SMART Places Ninth on Alberta's 30 Fastest Growing Companies List
Outstanding growth in revenues, exports and employees earns SMART Fast 30 title for fourth consecutive year
Calgary, AB --- January 22, 2002 --- SMART Technologies Inc. has placed ninth on the list of the 30 Fastest Growing Companies in Alberta for 2002. Presented by Alberta Venture magazine, Grant Thornton LLP, Alberta Treasury Branches, EPCOR and Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, this annual award recognizes outstanding businesses in Alberta for growth in sales, profitability, research and development, marketing and export activity. This marks the fourth consecutive year that SMART has made the list, one of only three companies to be so honored.
Since introducing the first touch-sensitive interactive whiteboard in 1991, SMART continues to expand its product offerings. It now manufactures an extensive line of Roomware
solutions, including the award-winning SMART Board interactive whiteboard and other interactive whiteboards, multimedia furniture, whiteboard capture systems and software. Since winning its first Fast 30 award in 1998, SMART has increased sales by 276% and the number of employees by 117%, with continued strong growth anticipated in 2002. The Fast 30 award follows SMART being named as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies for the sixth consecutive year, as determined by Arthur Andersen.
